Flora Lounge
Coquitlam, B.C. Canada
2025
Flora Lounge is a dynamic public art installation designed to enliven a busy downtown urban space and foster community engagement. Inspired by the charm of boulevard and community gardens, Flora Lounge features a curving, sculptural form that invites interaction and creates a playful atmosphere. Its design aims to transform the High Street into a vibrant gathering spot where people feel encouraged to pause and connect.
The core of Flora Lounge’s design is its steel framework, elegantly perforated with a hand painted floral pattern. This intricate design not only enhances the visual appeal but also creates captivating patterns of light and shadow as the sun moves across the structure.
Designed and fabricated in collaboration with Studio Huizenga and Shelter Studio Co.
